Mohammed cartoon contest: Hundreds expected outside Phoenix mosque

america, where you're free to be as racist and bigoted as you wish.

Phoenix (CNN)Jon Ritzheimer is a former Marine, and he has no middle ground when it comes to Islam.

His T-shirt pretty much says it all: "F--- Islam."

Ritzheimer is the organizer of Friday's "Freedom of Speech Rally" outside the Islamic Community Center of Phoenix.

It's the mosque that Elton Simpson and Nadir Soofi attended for a time. They're the men who drove from Arizona to a Dallas suburb to shoot up a Prophet Mohammed cartoon contest there. Both were killed by police early this month.

Daring minority Americans to cross their paths.

Hey, Gungeon. Come defend them.

No? Not worth 'the risk?'

Just as I thought.

These crazy racists want a war. They paid all this money for those guns and they realllllly want to use them.

As a side comment someone told me today about a right winger who brought several guns after President Obama was elected. And is now experiencing major credit card debt and is getting kicked out of his apartment because he can't keep up with his dbills. he asked if he could crash at my friends place for a couple of days. She said, no because he owns a bunch of guns which was the thing that contributed greatly to his debt.

I understand disagreeing with someone's point of view or beliefs. But mocking, insulting and provoking others is unnecessary and feels like nothing more than bullying to me. In my experience, people who are incessantly bullied often times strike back in inappropriate and disproportional ways when aggression against them is not held in check.

Clearly it is too late to dial it back. I fear for everyone affected by this - both those provoking and those grievously offended.
