Degradation of women's health care: letter writing campaign to AMA

I just sent this to the American Medical Association and their Journal about the degradation of women's health care for political purposes:

I would like to suggest that the AMA take a public stance against the recent wave of legislation in various states that degrades the quality of health care for women, most notably a law in Kansas that allows a doctor to lie to an expectant mother about potentially serious medical complications for her infant while in utero and required ultrasounds for pregnant women in Virginia. The withdrawal of insurance coverage for hormonal birth-control pills by employers also threatens the health of women, whether used for contraceptive purposes or for other complications. "First do no harm" requires that the organization that speaks for doctors speaks up when bad practices become the law of the land. Thank you.

I think it's time for a letter-writing campaign asking why they haven't spoken up against the practise of bad medicine. Don't you?
