We just got some exciting news for Democrats, Ellen: This morning, former Maryland governor Martin O'Malley announced that he is running for president.
Martin O'Malley spent two terms as governor fighting for equality -- for immigrants by signing the Maryland DREAM Act into law, for LGBT equality, and for every hardworking Marylander by raising his state's minimum wage. He's a proven fighter with a record of getting things done.
So welcome Governor O'Malley to the race -- then say you're ready to elect a Democrat in 2016.
We've got some great progressives running to represent our party and our values in 2016, and even though we won't pick our nominee until next July, one thing about this election couldn't be more clear:
This election is going to be a choice between Democrats who will stand up for the middle class and continue to move forward, or Republicans who are more committed than ever to taking us backward.
If you're in to make the right choice, say so today:

Thanks,
