Occurred at Christmas time, just before Joe Biden was to be sworn in for his first term as senator. The young family (Joe was elsewhere) was out buying a family holiday tree. The boys were badly injured, hospitalized, and Joe stayed by their sides as they recovered, and henceforth lived in Wilmington and COMMUTED to his Senate office in DC (ONE of the reasons he supports Amtrak.)
