Ugh! The Duggar parents.

They are trying to make it come across like it was not as serious as it really was.

OMG! According to the Dad, Josh kept molesting his sisters after he told his parents the first time. Parents totally mishandled it from the get go.

3. It is amazing that their noses aren't growing with all the lies

they are spitting out. They "treatment facility" they sent Josh to was not a treatment facility. They sent him to stay with a guy who was doing some type of home improvement job.

They waited until after their son continued to molest his sisters before they sat down with the girls and talked about inappropriate touching. They should have done that after the first time he fessed up.

It is clear that the parents did not deal with their son effectively after the fist time he admitted what he had done. Evidently the purity lessons never sank home in Josh's brain.

5. That is what abusers do

they minimize, deflect, obfuscate, outright lie, and blame the victim(s). The parents were abusive and negligent. It's not really all that much of a shocker that they would behave this way, I would be shocked if they admitted they were wrong and their whole religion is a scam.

Yes they are insinuating that they have been picked upon because they are Christians.

I am shocked I tell you shocked! NOT!

They are being picked upon because they are hypocrites.

9. Why hasn't the local child protective services removed

all of the children from that home?

I also feel that where there's smoke there's usually fire, and I just wonder if there isn't a whole lot more "inappropriate touching" happening in that household.

10. What if the molestor had been a friend of Josh's

They would have called the cops ASAP and insisted that he go to jail..

Incest is usually a dirty family secret that gets shoved under the heaviest rug in the house...and the victims are silenced lest they "upset the apple cart".

The cover up (once the incest is found out) almost always falls hardest on the ones who were victimized..

" If you tell, Daddy/brother/uncle/grandpa, etc will go to jail, and we will have no money"..

"No one will believe you "

"Maybe you remember it wrong"

" you will end up ruining their lives"

Millions of young kids suffer in silence until they get older and:

1. carry on the abuse to others
2. act out and get into trouble with the law
3. get out on their own and start their own families way too young
4. run away

11. The parents real outrage was that Josh's police
Thu Jun 4, 2015, 06:51 AM
Jun 2015

report was publicly released, not the fact that Josh, repeatedly, over a period of time, molested 5 young girls. They can't understand why there is a total lack of outrage that a juvenile record was released. They just were not very credible.

Kelly at least asked them if they can understand why people find them to be hypocrites, denouncing gay and/or transgender people as a threat to the safety of children all the while they knew that their son was a threat to the safety of young children. You notice that they didn't answer that question.

It was kind of funny that Kelly asked them essentially, knowing your family history, what on earth were you thinking when you decided to do a tv show? She was basically saying, did you not ever think that this might come out? Kelly was very gentle with the parents (far more then I would ever be) but she did get some points in if you listened to what she asked them. But she did let them get away with a lot of BS crap.

12. I often try and find a silver lining

but I just don't see one here yet. I watched some of that interview (someone posted it here - thank you) and could only get through a few minutes of it.

That Fox 'News' woman Meghan Kelley made it seem like oh my gosh let's all have sympathy for them. Like 'give these wonderful white reactionary fundamentalist right wing christians a break because they look like us and profess to be so christian.' Such a softball interview. And that family just grosses me out.

They make their fame and money by attacking all sorts of other people. And breeding like rabbits. I've never watched their show but they just seem really creepy & grotesque. Like that Johns family cult. Yuck.
