Very very pertinent, as Georgia has recently passed a law decriminalizing the carrying of weapons in the airport (IF you're caught you simply have to take your toy off the premises - no harm, no foul).

(12,017 posts)you can carry with no penalty at all (not even taking the weapon off premises) in the non-secured areas of the airport. whatever you're permitted for or if it is a long-gun... no questions asked. the only time a weapon at the airport has to be taken off premises is if you're caught with it at TSA checkpoint. THEN you have to take it back to your car... or try harder to sneak it through in another line, i guess.

(11,522 posts)I heard he was dropping off his daughter at the airport with his semi-auto rifle in tow. He got testy with the cops who followed him everywhere, apparently he claimed they were violating his rights just by following him around.
