the morale improves."
That's how it seems on DU lately to me, and we can do better than this.
Hey, we have 4 great Democrats to vote for - no reason to get ugly at fellow Democrats that prefer someone other than your own candidate.
If you want to feel angry and disheartened, look at what the Republican party is running. We should be thankful that we aren't running a stable of freaking nutjobs.
PowerToThePeople
(9,610 posts)as my morale will not improve anytime soon.
Just because the Republican crazy train gets worse every year does not mean we should fill the void of non-uber-crazy right wing they leave behind.

(39,961 posts)It's time to take a different perspective than "Conservative Democrat wins"
and turn it into an actually progressive and populist win.

He said he voted for Obama the first time but didn't vote at all the second time because he felt let down that Obama wasn't as liberal as he thought.

(39,961 posts)for failing to include Chaffee. It was absolutely not intentional, I didn't know he announced.

(68,918 posts)You responded with something about the site being pretty or nice, but it didn't tell you much about policy.
I responded back with his policies page, which is rather easy to navigate to. Many of his policies are far more progressive than our progressives.
Yet, the count remains at 3 in the OP, while the edit window dwindles. That says more to me.
I like you Aerows, but I don't like this OP. There isn't much about DU I like though when it comes to the primaries; I never have. I just weather it.
My answer was simply to correct you. And that didn't happen. As I said before, no worries.
Aerows
(39,961 posts)more than we disagree.
We are simply, boldly disagreeing with each other.

(68,918 posts)I've signed up to work for Chafee, and I feel really, really good about a candidate for the first time since Governor Dean. I support whoever the Dem nom ends up being, but this is where I'm starting off.
I appreciate the change.
Aerows
(39,961 posts)thank you for the correction.

Please do that.
I'm sorry, but this place disheartens and depresses me every single day. Even a post like this, which is supposed to unite, doesn't. "Three great Democrats."

(39,961 posts)I didn't know that he announced his run.
I didn't mean to offend you, and it wasn't some intentional slight.

(14,733 posts)Because to me, it's seemed a lot lately that it would be 'The beatings will be continued until the horse has so thoroughly rotted away that nothing can be found to be beaten'.
Whether it's Duggars or the 'economic vs social (or racial) justice divide', there seem to be a certain few topics that people simply will not stop posting over and over and over, even if nothing is really changing and people's stances are set in stone.

(154,021 posts)And his speech had much more than just the metric system. Though it is hardly surprising people are concentrating on that, instead of calling on neocons and the war on Iraq.
I will leave it at that, or I will cross the crew

(3,041 posts)If you screw up and make one bad joke, even though that's your only hidden post out of an average 800+ posts per month. There will be no warning, there will be no time-out, there will be no suspension. If you're doing an effective job advocating against the Chosen Candidate of the administrators of DU, you'd better just watch yourself. Is there any other way for a rational person to see it? I just might pull a Walt Starr myself, I sm thoroughly disgusted.

(11,843 posts)Used to be that real journalists exposed the dipshits and crackpots who tried to run for office which kept them out of the circus.
What passes for journalism now won't touch a conservative candidate, thus the GOP clown bus. Flip side they attack liberal candidates, which keeps the field narrow.
