Rush Limbaugh In Free Fall As His Show Gets Demoted To A Low Rated Station

Things have gone from bad to worse for Rush Limbaugh. Not only are radio stations looking to dump him, but his show is being forced to move to smaller lower-rated stations in an attempt to prevent a mass exodus of stations that carry his show.

Indianapolis Business Journal reported on Limbaugh getting demoted way down the (ratings) dial:
http://www.politicususa.com/2015/06/05/rush-limbaugh-free-fall-show-demoted-station.html

The Rush Limbaugh Show—set to be dropped by WIBC-FM 93.1 next month—will continue to be heard on Indianapolis radio airwaves without interruption after being picked up by iHeartMedia Inc.

iHeartMedia Indianapolis announced Wednesday that it will begin airing Limbaugh live on weekdays on a new local station, 97.5 FM, beginning Monday, July 6, from noon to 3 p.m. It will air the same time on iHeartMedia’s WNDE-AM 1260.

Limbaugh is going from being on a top ten station in the city to a station in the bottom three.
http://ratings.radio-online.com/cgi-bin/rol.exe/arb049

It is widely rumored that Limbaugh is about to get the boot off of his station in Chicago after his ratings have fallen to 24th place in the city with an audience of 121,000 listeners. Limbaugh has already lost his stations in major markets Boston, New York, and Los Angeles. Radio stations don’t want Limbaugh’s show because of the combination of low ratings, poor advertising revenue, and declining audience.

... who earlier had forced out so many liberal talk stations like those in San Diego and here in Portland, Oregon when they were higher rated stations, so it doesn't surprise me that these corporatist front line people try to put Rush someplace on the dial. But they probably can't keep propping him up if the business numbers are there, even if they want to, where they didn't want to when they did have numbers for liberal talk stations.

Clear Channel, in the tradition of Blackwater, Diebold, and other companies that get a bad name for consumers that try to hide their "new beginnings"...

But very good news about Mouth Rush's continuing decline.

corporate structure, as in a new owner or new philosophy?

The reason I ask is twofold: 1) because I don't know and 2) because I remember how much I despised CC but I don't feel the same way about IHeartRadio.

I do take issue with IHeartRadio's tendency to play the same "top 10" songs over and over, at least in the Alternative Rock genre, which is what I listen to most.

"The company's new name is intended to reflect its growing digital business. Bob Pittman, Chairman and CEO of iHeartMedia, Inc., explained: "We have a company that's doing progressive stuff, and yet we're named after AM radio stations."

Don't know the specifics of this case but if it was buyout it makes more sense, it doesn't if it is the same people because of the Heart and the doing "progressive stuff" but wouldn't know what would be behind that either but named after AM stations that give the conservative talk radio circuit

And Dick Armey admitted as he left the Koch fronted Tea Party group a couple of years ago, that at that time, the Koches felt they were not getting sufficient benefit from their 'investment.'

I don't believe Rush came out of nowhere anymore than Bircher CT pundits who make slick, widely distributed productions designed to affect all spectrums.

From Rush Limbaugh

Now that I've outgrown the 25-54 demographic, I'm no longer confident that the way I see the world is the way everybody else does. I've gotten old enough now that there are younger people, generationally younger, who have an entirely different view, an entirely different experience.
