Protected groups

This discussion thread was locked as off-topic by Raine1967 (a host of the General Discussion forum).

I do not think they should be allowed to attack DU members or other candidates from there. I understand the purpose and agree on having groups to support candidates or other issues. I think atting from those protected areas does not make those DU members look good at all.

Rant off, back to your regularly scheduled program 😀

Protected status of groups doesn't make them immune to juries.

It is hit and miss with the jury system though. 👍

it spawns the Watch Your Back threads in said groups where the protected community commiserates over the unfair stalking by enemies as well as trading tips on how to avoid juries stacked by your enemies as well as increasing your chances at getting called for an enemy's jury.

Personal attacks would fall under TOS.

Other candidates from another candidates 'group' - I think that's fair game.

So far as I know - only one elected official has his staff posting here (Alan Grayson) and - even then - he's fair game.

I'd much rather the Clinton and Sanders supporters retreat to their rooms then take jabs in GD or Politics.

In the O'Malley group -our hosts won't tolerate negativity. We are all there to share information about our candidate.

There is much to like about O'Malley, and while he is not currently my favorite candidate, his supporters are currently my favorite group of supporters on DU. Ask them about O'Malley, they respond with information about O'Malley. It's refreshing.

I think we want an open and honest conversation. And - win, lose, draw - we need a tight coalition to beat the Reps in 2016. We are just one part of that coalition.

And we'll be here - when everyone else gets done arguing.

Keep calm and vote Democratic in November 2016!

DISRUPTIVE META-DISCUSSION
Positive threads about Democratic Underground or its members are are permitted.

Threads complaining about Democratic Underground or its members; threads complaining about jury decisions, locked threads, suspensions, bannings, or the like; and threads intended to disrupt or negatively influence the normal workings of Democratic Underground and its community moderating system are not permitted.

Skinner has stated (and I am paraphrasing, not directly quoting) in the past in the ATA forum that groups hosts protected or otherwise are able to run these groups as they see fit -- as long as it follows the ToS of DU. Hosts are allowed to block members and all posts can be alerted upon.

IF there are any other questions, there is always an option to take this issue up in the forum I linked to.
