http://www.commercialappeal.com/news/local-news/charges-dropped-against-4-cited-in-graduation-ceremony-disruption_68122042The superintendent of the Senatobia school system dropped charges Monday against four people cited for disrupting a May 21 graduation ceremony.
Jay Foster had sworn out warrants for disturbing the peace against three people accused of being boisterous at the ceremony, and had been trying to identify a fourth suspect. Henry Walker, one of those four, was due in court Tuesday on the charge.

Linda Walker, Henrys mother, was still incensed at Foster Monday, saying she was in talks with an attorney about a lawsuit.
It saves me some time, but its going to cost them some money. Im not done with him. He done got my babys name all over the world, she said. I was talking to my attorney when you called. Were not done.
Foster said Monday the warrants will likely serve as a deterrent at future ceremonies.
We felt like at this point that we had accomplished our goal, Foster said. which was, if you disrupt the ceremony, not only could you be escorted out, but you could face possible charges. Its really nothing more than a ticket, but it could cost you.

I hope she does sue, and I hope that jackass Jay Foster gets kicked to the door for this shameful stunt.

(16,927 posts)I can understand the superintendent's frustration.
What ever happened to decorum and civility? This was not a sporting event (yea, team!) or a contest (go, team!). It is an event to bestow honors on graduates.
Just sayin..............

(43,182 posts)I can honestly say that the only thing memorable about any of my graduations was my family being there. The graduation speakers were boring, the valedictorian at my high school had gotten away with cheating on her exams, and I can't for the life of me remember the graduation song.
But I do remember my family being there. And I don't have that big a family so my cheers weren't as large as some others, but they were just as much appreciated.
It's a time to celebrate. It's not a funeral. And I honestly don't recall any instances where cheering for any graduate went on for more than a few seconds, so what exactly was the problem? All one of the people here did was shout out, "You did it!" Do you honestly think that's worth dragging someone through the court system?

Fuckin idiots.
