My Soul Mate dog rescue by Anonymous Burbank, CA

When I first moved up to Los Angeles for college I was lucky enough to have my parents rent me an apartment since my school doesn't provide dorms. I felt lonely so I decided to have my childhood dreams come true and have a dog. So I looked up different dogs until I found a german shepherd puppy and waited for the weekend for my boyfriend to come up so he can take me to the local county shelter that the puppies resided. As I entered the county shelter I spotted the puppies and fell in love with them but I just had a tugging feeling to look around a little bit more. As I walked into the adult section of the shelter two cages in I stopped to look at this seemingly empty cage. When I looked carefully I saw a little golden ball of fur tucked in the corner of the cage. When she realized someone was at her cage, instead of rushing to the door of the cage like every dog did there she just stayed in the corner and looked at me with those eyes. It was like I was staring at a little girls eyes. I decided to adopt her, and waited by her cage while my boyfriend went to look for someone to adopt her. While I was waiting, she walked up to me slowly and stood right in front of me and when I reached my hand in she calmly licked my hand and stared at me. So now, 2 years later I have my soul mate Allegra by my side. She was abused and neglected but now with all the love she gets from me, my boyfriend, her aunts and grandparents she is a love bug now. I am so glad I chose Allegra.
