From what I saw there was only a 20% chance of showers today.
It was just coming down mighty hard. Rare for June.
Loving it!!
But I'm glad I got the pup out on a walk just before hand.

(36,407 posts)Early this morning, we were running fans to turn out the accumulated heat in the house, then bam, the Delta breeze kicked in. High clouds moved in, too. Most pleasant, but I'd rather batten down the hatches and embrace a good rain.

(20,886 posts)Went outside to discharge a patient and was hit with a pleasant, cool breeze. Nice.
Then, we're going to get heat again on Friday.

(36,407 posts)Only the cynic in me figures it won't amount to much beyond smearing windshields.

(12,212 posts)Is it your typical ocean wind, or is it coming from the south? It's quite humid here now, and cloudy (southern California).
Brother Buzz
(36,407 posts)My breeze is coming from the southwest because it enters inland from the southwest through the Golden Gate. Typically, the summer north winds are hotter than stink (Like your Santa Ana winds), while the gentile onshore breezes are cooling.

(21,675 posts)it's still plenty hot out here. not as bad as yesterday, but close. the heat is killing what little is left of my garden

(36,407 posts)101° yesterday, and a pleasant 88° today in Yolano. I complain at anything above 98.6°
It's still blowing well, and has even picked up a bit. Hopefully you'll get your relief in another hour or two, certainly toward sunset.

One of my favorites. Inter-active. You can zoom in or out, pan around, add satellite, storm cells. etc. You can enter your street address and center the map there, if you wish, then zoom in and out right down to your roof top!
Love this site!

(7,768 posts)When there's a storm brewing, I often keep these sites running and check them often.
The lightning out in the ocean off the California coast is right where it belongs (thinking forest fires that get sparked).
The intense lightning in central Oregon right now has me concerned in that regard.
