I admit to total ignorance on this subject, but I'm trying to understand it. So I'd appreciate anyone who's willing to explain. I'm a senior citizen and a grandmother, so it's not something I have occasion to be associated with.
Do some cops use steroids as part of their fitness routine? Is it legal? Do they need a prescription? What are the supposed benefits?
Yes, I could Google it, but I'm looking for someone's personal assessment of the situation. Thanks in advance.

(23,761 posts)there have been numerous studies about this, expose's on tv and academic articles written about it. Society as a whole has been more and more inclined to medicate itself. Yet alone cops.

(38,437 posts)I don't apologize for cops, but it pisses me off royally when people make statements impugning all of them.

(8,219 posts)I guess no one else is willing to get into a discussion on it. I'm still not clear on whether one can just get steroids OTC or if they can do so by claiming it's part of their fitness routine. Something isn't right, here.

(55,894 posts)They claim it's a "tool of the trade". In order to intimidate prospective criminals or to over power them, they feel a need to bulk up artificially.
What steroids really provide is a crutch for insecure individuals who either haven't been taught effective methods of dealing with the public/criminals or who refuse to rely on them.
