New York (AFP) - A New York police detective and another man were found guilty Tuesday over a road rage chase that ended with a banker beaten in front of his wife and toddler in broad daylight.
Judge Maxwell Wiley found detective Wojciech Braszczok, 34, guilty of second-degree assault, criminal mischief, coercion and riot over the September 29, 2013 incident in Manhattan that shocked New Yorkers.
New York police promptly suspended the detective pending termination.
Braszczok, who was off-duty at the time, was acquitted on two more serious assault charges, local media reported.

(55,981 posts)In some states second-degree assault is a misnomer and is defined at "causes or attempts to cause offensive physical contact to another." That could mean forcibly grabbing someone by the arm.
