Who called the cops on the black pool party-goers? A violent felon with a long record.

http://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2015/jun/10/texas-pool-party-911-caller-convicted-felon

The man who called 911 to complain about a group of black teenagers at a pool party in Texas, and defended the controversial police response as a “good amount of aggression”, is a convicted felon who spent time in jail for violent behaviour and torturing animals.

SNIP

Sean Toon was sentenced to more than nine months in jail after pleading guilty to killing and maiming prize farm animals and covering them in paint, according to court records in Texas. He was separately sentenced to two and a half months for an assault.

SNIP

In November 1999, aged 18, Toon and three high school friends were arrested and expelled from school after vandalising the agricultural centre of a rival high school district and attacking animals housed there, many of which were owned and cared for by school children.

“Cows and pigs were cut and bruised, apparently beaten with wooden boards. And baby turkeys were slain, their limbs torn apart,” the Dallas Morning News reported at the time. Dale Gardner, a teacher in the school district’s agriscience and technology program, told the newspaper: “It was brutal. There’s no way to describe it. I’ve never seen anything like it.”

SNIP

In September 2000, Toon was charged in nearby Denton County with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, according to court records. After pleading guilty to an unspecified lesser charge, Toon was sentenced to 75 days in jail.

"Megyn Kelly on McKinney teen: 'The girl was no saint either'"

http://www.rawstory.com/2015/06/fox-news-megyn-kelly-15-year-old-mckinney-girl-attacked-by-cop-was-no-saint-either/
Fox News host Megyn Kelly said on Monday that, while she was not defending McKinney, Texas police officer Eric Casebolt’s actions last week, the 15-year-old girl he attacked was not without blame.

“The girl was no saint, either,” Kelly said of Dajerria Becton. “He had told her to leave, and she continued to linger. When a cop tells you to leave, get out.”

Kelly did not mention that, according to Becton, she was in the process of complying with Casebolt’s order when he violently took her down after being called to the scene of a pool party.

“He told me to keep walking, and we were walking and I guess he thought we were saying rude stuff to him,” Becton told KDFW-TV.

his judgment regarding the behavior of the teens at the party.

He said that he was afraid for his 7 year old daughter's sake, and that the cop acted appropriately.

Well, we know that the cop didn't act appropriately -- even if we didn't trust our own eyes and ears-- because the police chief clearly said so. That's why the cop was forced to resign.

And I haven't seen a bit of evidence that any 7 year old was in danger.

One thing that has been bothering me about this site is people seem to just want to pick on others and our "cultural trait" of picking and making fun of others for the fun of it, seems to have arrived.

That seems to be not only getting off the purpose of a board like this, but picking on people and dividing them is the Republican strategy.

This is not meant to call out those who are getting on the band wagon of blaming the caller. But to bring awareness of how we ourselves are kind of getting caught up in that which we don't like about the other party?

Totally agree. But I do think we tend to get caught up in what I call "tabloid journalism". These days it pays to emotionalize stories. And often they will leave out facts to make it look worse.

There is no exaggeration is what in happening with racist based police brutality though. And it is amazing how the system keeps ignoring what is a huge issue.

The caller called the police. He did not take things into his own hands, at least.

He may be the scum of the earth, I don't know. But you are absolutely correct in that this situation is a police problem, and with the degree of force by the police officer that is evident on the video, it is appropriately being investigated.

I also agree with your comments about division here. It saddens me that there's such an attempt at this at times.

a white psychopath/sociopath calling the police on POC is no surprise. But he'll get the pass by some here and the general 'privileged' citizen at large because he's of that 'privileged class. Crazy or not he's covered and coveted by many as a 'hero' of the white supremacist movement in amerikkka. I would be willing to bet, many who call police on kids and people like the Tamir Rice execution and John Crawford execution are just like this ass.
