A lot can happen in 17 months, but if I had to, I'd say it ended yesterday when TAA crashed & burned

right after Pelosi announced she was voting against all 3 trade bills. That was a blow but then Kevin McCarthy announced it would be revisited and called for an immediate vote on the other two bills, and ten minutes later TPA squeaked by on a final vote of 219-211, followed by the currency bill which passed with a healthy 240-190:

That means that barring catastrophe, Dems next week will allow themselves to be persuaded to vote for an enhanced TAA -- and it's an assistance bill after all so why wouldn't they? -- and once that's done TPA is in the bag and TPP (also barring catastrophe) should arrive in Hillary's stocking right around Christmas, along with a roaring economy that voters are finally going to notice, allowing her to remind us all how great we had in the 90s and sail to victory, probably a close one, with the help of Bill, Barack, and every other available Dem hand on deck or rowing in the galley with everything they've got.

Of course, I could be wrong, but I don't recall that ever happening . . .

which is basically, don't lose. She can be as bland and boring as algebra class but it doesn't matter as long she stays out of the weeds, which won't be easy and is kind of a shame since she's at her best when she's mad, but by now she's had a lot of practice and this one is for keeps.

I remember how exhausted she was when she left State. It will be damaging if she starts to visibly show the strain of campaigning. The Republicans will exploit it as only they can. Slow and easy is the way to go. Let the game come to her.

There probably aren't too many voters left who need an introduction so slow and careful is the ticket, definitely.

It could turn out to be a dud but I'm pretty sure that it won't. For one thing the negative crap which mainly comes from Wikileaks has zip to do with the actual language. It could result in the sun crashing into the earth, etc., but frankly most of that scary-sounding stuff is irrelevant and unlikely.

is to stop the thing that will cause the need for assistance.

I still have hopes that it is dead.

but I heard Pelosi's speech yesterday and though I didn't catch the full meaning before the voting I do now. She's going to make it happen if she can, and with her and Barack both pushing hard, I think they will.

And who knows? If they don't have the votes, they may just go straight to conference.
