Andre Iguodala & Stephen Curry's fundamentaiist victory rant wins high marks at the Christian Post

]
Andre Iguodala, the Golden State Warriors forward who won this season's NBA championship with his team Tuesday night along with the Most Valuable Player award, thanked God for the win and said the team is "full of believers."

&quot We've) got a team full of believers. We all say God has a way for you and a purpose for you," Iguodala, 31, said after receiving the MVP honor. "I want to be just like Steph (Curry)when I grow up — just a God fearing man."........................

"Sometimes people make it seem like you have to have certain prerequisites or a crazy life story in order to be successful in this world. But the truth is you really don't," Curry said after accepting his MVP trophy earlier this year. "It doesn't matter where you come from, what you have or don't have, what you lack or what you have too much of. But all you need to have is faith in God, an undying passion for what you do and what you choose to do in this life, and a relentless drive and the will to do whatever it takes to be successful in whatever you put your mind to............."

Am I the only one that notices sports have become another form of right wing indoctrinition. The Pacquio vs Mayweather, hyped up fight, was a fight between a fundamentalist and a ayn randy. Both believe they are successful because they of moral superiority. Both are right wing republicans.

I know people like to associate the black faithful with liberation theologists like MLK, but modern Black religion is dominated by right wingers like TD Jakes, and the prosperity gospel.

I am not an atheist myself but the religious right is a perversion of faith in my view.

as morally superior. Ayn Randies are similarly disgusting, though they are officially atheist. Both religions and sports are now being used to indoctrinate people with right wing memes that the rich are superior to the rest of us.

more propaganda than actually trying sell something. I'll go watch the local High Schoolers play sports. Much more honest and important in my book.

Fire and brimstone will rain down up the followers of this false God.

turning down a spot in a PhD program anywhere as an alternative.

Most pro athletes, while physically gifted, are not the brightest bulbs on the marquee about anything other than their sports.

The gawd talk does get wearying for us fans, though. And any gawd that demands fear is by definition nothing worth following.

is more about luck and being in the right place at the right time with an often trivial idea than anything else. Could ANYTHING be more ultimately trivial than Facebook?

The REALLY smart people in the sciences - the Edward Wittens and Brian Greenes and Alex Filippenkos and Steven Weinbergs - are teaching someplace and making a good living doing REAL science. None will ever be fabulously wealthy.

As democrat doesn't that strike you are really right wing nutty? The fundamentalist republican Christian Post clearly loved that. The religious right always claim the poor are poor because of lack of faith and moral failings.

I'm no fan of the man, but I think the idea that he's a RWNJ isn't true. A fundie? Perhaps. Lots of people, in fact, thought Reid won his last election--it was a very narrow victory--because Manny had campaigned for him a few days before the election and helped turn out LV's Filipino voters.

That's just their opinion.

No big deal to me.

I guess I sound like The Dude in The Big Lebowski.
