Prince Performs With Stevie Wonder At The White House

Prince performed some of his greatest hits at a weekend White House party for President Barack Obama and his wife, Michelle.

But although guests put details on social media, White House spokesman Josh Earnest is refusing to confirm the "Purple Rain" singer's attendance.

Earnest says he has no details about the private event. A reported 500 lobbyists, corporate executives, celebrities and other guests attended.

Earnest says the Obamas threw the party "on their own dime." He didn't say how much it cost or what they would pay for.

A nice look at who this president is partying with. Disappointment doesn't begin to describe my feelings on a man I voted for twice.

1. Better list of attendees is emerging:

The Obamas, Prince, Al Sharpton, Stevie Wonder, Bon Jovi, plus:

Seattle Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson and his date, singer Ciara, artists Jon Bon Jovi and James Taylor, TV & film stars Tyler Perry, Connie Britton, Angela Bassett, Gayle King, Tracee Ellis Ross, fashion designer Naeem Khan and J.Crew’s Jenna Lyons.

Also there, Carlyle’s David Rubenstein, 32 Advisors’ Robert Wolf and American Express’ Ken Chenault, plus DC power players former Attorney General Eric Holder, Education Secretary Arne Duncan and National Security Adviser Susan Rice.

Sounds like fun aside from the DC types.

7. You voted for him twice, and now he's obligated to tell you who he is inviting over to his house?

I voted for him twice. Should I be able to tell him what tie to wear for the SOTU?

10. Do you know what type of "lobbyists" were there? You know that non-profits have "lobbyists", right?

It's nuanced. Kinda like Bernie supporters trying to explain the difference between "Socialist" and "Democratic Socialist". There are good lobbyists, just ask the Unions.

11. Thank you

I will consider this, it has some validity and does not come with a dose of snark.

12. If I sounded snarky, it's only because you sounded as if you had just discovered that

President Obama is a politician. Organizations of every stripe hire persuasive people to bend his ear. Even at a party.
