The US Government is Replacing Alexander Hamilton With a Woman on the $10 Bill

The Treasury Department is preparing to announce that they are putting a woman on the $10 bill, as a source has confirmed what appears to be a premature tweet.

Treasury Secretary Jack Lew will announce Thursday that the Bureau of Engraving and Printing will put a woman on the bill as soon as 2020.

While much of the focus for the redesign was on the $20 bill, CNN reported in March that the $10 bill was also due for a makeover, including the possibility of replacing Hamilton.

...if anybody should be on American currency, it's Mr "A public debt will be, to us, a public blessing". Having said that, I rather like the idea of a woman...is Eleanor Roosevelt too obvious? In any event, she'd get my vote...

Hamilton created the basic economic plan for the new nation, including the first Bank of the US. What the hell did Jackson do to deserve his face on any bill? Tell Marshall to whistle up a rope before gleefully driving Native Americans off their land?

Boo hiss.

Andrew Jackson was the only President to ever pay off the entirety of the national debt..Every penny.
The reserve bank was a charter system then, renewable every 10 years by government action.
Jackson said 'fuck that', didn't renew the charter and then paid the newly-unemployed bankers every penny the nation owed them, because there was no more bank to charge new interest on the debt.

But he should indeed come off of that bill; Native American businesses most of the time won't even break that bill for you, that's how much they remember President Jackson, too.
