Republicans - Are you sure you want to continue this fight?

There is a better than even chance that Obama will kick your ass.

After all, this is the guy that called the head shot on the Somali "pirate" and rescued their hostage. This is the guy that made the call to go in and shoot Osama Bin Laden in the eye. This is the guy that had the balls to say he supported marriage equality for gays because they were as equal as you and I. This is the guy that orchestrated the over-throw of Omar Khadafy.

Are you sure you want to fuck with this guy?

You are using logic. Republicans ignore that. Obama is a Democrat so he's weak. Period. Kablooie May 2012 #19

..is to badmouth and lie about him. Should they continue that fight? Whether or not they want to give up their run for the White House would be entirely up to them. They can choose to do it in a civil manner or they choose their weapons...

When you say, 'They can choose to do it in a civil manner or they choose their weapons..'

That may have been the GOP years ago, but it isn't now and won't be for many years. The game is changed for good with them now, they can't go back.

Being civil is not a part of them anymore, and won't be as long as it brings in the knuckle dragger vote! And the knuckleheads are still taking over state by state.

I understand what your desire is, but not likely. I do wish they would return to civilization.

And he has done an excellent job with the message about what he's been doing. The fact there is a small break in the media is good but I wish we could get them to cover the campaign spots for Obama like they have for the GOP all year long, clown posse and all.

We must fight all attempts to depress the vote this year to overcome the GOP vote suppression, state by state.
The GOP even passed outrageous laws to criminalize those who assist disabled or otherwise disadvantaged people to vote by going to their homes or driving them to the polls. This is a level of suppression I haven't seen since the Jim Crow days.

Are you crazy? Have you seen the issues Republicans have to run on? Bad-mouthing Obama for actual accomplishments is about all they have to run on; if they tried running on actual differences in policy, they'd be even worse off.

that just maybe they don't have any actual ideas since this is the way they're gonna go, right? If this is their best campaign option?

and as they really have no workable, or god forbid equitable, plan to lay before the American people, they just resort to what they're comfortable doing.

Very sad actually. Kinda like watching an alcoholic sink further and further into the disease and obsession.

Though his supporters are probably the most enthusiastic, there is no way he'd appeal to the increasingly far right Republican mainstream. I remember when he initially was speaking out against the Iraq war, it never dawned on me that he was a Republican. And when I caught a few of the Republican debates, the last time around, it was like the children's exercise "Which One Doesn't Belong."

After eight years of peace and prosperity the electorate chose to make the 2000 election stealable for the Republicans. Anyone that trusts the sense of the electorate needs to take some time to review recent history. Obama is looking re-electable as of today, but the swift boating and wall to wall anti-Obama advertising has not yet begun. I doubt this election will be anything near a landslide.

Regarding taking on Obama directly, Republicans in Congress kicked his butt repeatedly, along with DINO members of Congress, when Obama had large majorities in both the House of Representatives and Senate. Obama's brush with success is a quite recent, and probably passing phenomena.

I think that, for the repubs behind the scenes, Mitt is the perfect candidate, destined to lose.
The repubs don't have a candidate that can win, so they throw Mitt on the altar.
Then they can spin the lose in several ways, religion especially.
