Obama and Pelosi appeared together at a fundraiser in San Francisco an intimate gathering hosted by environmental activist Tom Steyer from his home overlooking the Golden Gate Bridge.
(snip)
Obama said he couldn't have accomplished anything in Congress without a partner in the House. "Nancy Pelosi has been that partner, and I could not be prouder to work with her," he said.
"As I think some of you may have noticed, it's not like I agree with my Democratic caucus on everything,," Obama said, eliciting laughter from the audience and a blush from Pelosi. "But on 98% of things, they're moving in the right direction and I know where their heart is, and I know what their values are, and I know what they care about," he said.
Pelosi helped sink an extension of trade adjustment assistance in the House last week, reversing her earlier support for the measure in the hopes that it would also scuttle Obama's request for "fast track" trade promotion authority. For days afterward, the White House declined to say whether the two had spoken since the rift.

Basically she says she doesn't like the climate ban that was inserted into TAA and doesn't see a path forward for it, but she seems resigned to TPA passing without it (as it then did) and says her relationship with PBO is great and that this is a longstanding disagreement they've discussed many times and no threat to that relationship.

In a week or two the TAA concessions will pass and then fast track will be complete.

(15,512 posts)I knew this would blow over and sure enough. There's more to being a Democrat than bashing Dems though you wouldn't know it sometimes.

And how interesting this fact has not spawned 5 threads about how they are too good for the 99%--unlike HRC's fundraisers.

(15,512 posts)HRC is also in town, or was, but with lower ticket prices:
Coincidentally, a front-runner in the race to succeed Obama, former Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton, will also be in the Southland for a fundraiser Thursday. Clinton's fundraiser will be at the Balboa Bay Club in Newport Beach, with tickets priced from $1,000 to $2,700, the maximum individual contribution for a candidate seeking his or her party's presidential nomination.
Clinton will also conduct three fundraisers Friday on Los Angeles' Westside -- a 12:30 p.m. luncheon at the Beverly Hills home of Westfield Corp. co-CEO Peter Lowy and his wife Janine; a 5 p.m. event at the home of HBO executive Michael Lombardo and husband Sonny Ward; and a 7 p.m. event at the home of actor Tobey Maguire and his wife Jennifer Meyer. Tickets for each event are priced at $2,700.
