state by state speak your mind about...north carolina

home of this years democratic convention
one beautiful place from the low country of the coast to the high country of the mountains north carolina is a great place
i get there when i can my dad lives in asheville
i love the drive across this place it is one big nature show
north carolina is worthy of investigation
there are coastal swamps and tall mountains farms and cities
the charlotte airport is awesome
the food is delicious and done right
fried with gravy!(jk jk)
the bbq is world renowned and for good reason
and north carolina women have the best southern accents outside of a central florida cracker drawl
(makes me all squishy when a southern girl talks)
take a little time next trip to explore north carolina

I do NOT WANT to punish the Dem NC-ers who are fighting the good fight! Have never been there but the pix are beautiful and we should not abandon NC regardless of how the vote turned out.....having the convention there is more likely to turn things right than not having it there.

3. Visited there once. Spent a couple weeks with friends in Ashville.

Seemed pretty cool. Saw some mountains. Great Smokey Mountains. Lots of fog. Went to Charlotte. Saw the Hornets play the Jazz.

Ashville was the first time in my life I had ever eaten at The Waffle House.

Besides that I don't know much about the place.

and live but the new Republican legislature, especially in the current short session, is lining up some dangerous policies that will wreak damage unfortunately.

Love my state, best in the country! As a world wide traveler, nothing beats coming home to NC. BBQ, mountains, coast, sand-hills and piedmont all great places. Did I say BBQ?, then there are the Panthers, minor league baseball and of course ACC football and basketball, plus BBQ. Golf is pretty good here too along with the BBQ and trout fishing around Asheville. Go DEACS! And as mentioned the Southern Belles, especially my two, my wife and daughter. Plus our BBQ and home of Texas Pete hot sauce....whichi s great on, you guessed it...BBQ!

6. It really should have known better than to enshrine bigotry in its constitution

no, really, it should have. Its own governor is appalled at this. It usually is much more progressive than its neighbors, even Virginia now that it's become McDonnellstan. This is what happens when you not only vote on people's basic human rights, but do so in a low-turnout primary election.

As to the state itself, I've only been through it on the interstates, but I've heard good things. Now if they'd only finish that tunnel to Ocracoke...

was a North Carolinian - educated at Wake Forest and Chapel Hill. One of the wisest, kindest, nicest and most gentle human beings I have ever met. He had an accent that went down my Northern ears the way fine sippin' whisky glides over the palate.

Trying that famous BBQ is definitely on my "to do" list.

But that's about the only place I would avoid in NC. I'd like to take a motorcycle cruise through there someday. It sounds nice.

I enjoyed my time there. Learned to eat country ham biscuits. Played a lot of golf and worked to get Sen. Helms out of office.
