He was the spitting image of the killer, had the same first name and was near the scene of the crime at the fateful hour: Carlos DeLuna paid the ultimate price and was executed in place of someone else in Texas in 1989, a report out Tuesday found.

several things were accomplished here anyway...
1. Bloodlust satisfied
2. A brown person who probably did something to someone anyway was dealt with and it becomes a Win/Win for pro-death zealots.
I guess I better put some sarcasm in there.
Me? This case is the bellweather of WHY the DP should be abolished. I hope the state compensates his family but instead I feel pretty certain that it will just dismiss the study.
