I was cleaning out old emails today and found one of my fundie sister in law's FWD/FWD/FWD emails that Obama was going to outlaw Christianity and force everyone into Islamic interracial gay marriages. It was from early 2008... in the days Palin was sending out emails with targets over "terrorists" running for Congress (aka Democratic Party candidates)
So I bounced it back to her today and asked if the cops have barged into her house yet to burn her bibles and Kirk Cameron movie collection slapped a burqa on her, handed her state issued divorce papers from my brother and her new marriage license to a black lesbian.
About an hour later I got a call from my dear sweet brother laughing like a hyena. Said she was madder'n a wet hen.
GOOD. Her embarrassment and shame were well earned.

Maybe, just maybe, she'll learn something good from this.

(26,157 posts)...your brother has a sense of humor. He must need it. I could not be married to someone who would believe the crap in that email you unearthed.

(6,948 posts)She keeps trying to drag him to her church and he just patiently rolls his eyes. So far she doesn't push too hard.
I honestly doubt she even read the whole email she forwarded. It was anti Obama so she blasted it to everyone like a dutiful little fundie. Partly I did it because she's started sending me the same sort of FWD/FWD/FWD crapola again and partly I did it just to get her goat up.
But yeah, he's got a good sense of humor.

(54,592 posts)Hell, the GOP thinks women should be forced to give birth to their rapists' babies. Being forced to wear a burqa pales in comparison.

(6,948 posts)the fact undies tend to bunch up a lot on Republican butts is all Obama's fault.....
Would not bet my last penny but I'm thinking Fruit of the Looms didn't bunch up nearly as much under WhistleAss.

(82,849 posts)This is something I've advised folks to do for a long time: When something particularly whackadoo comes down the pike, write it down, date it, have the person saying it initial it and give their estimate of when it's going to happen. Put it away, and then bring it out when they thought Obama was going to take away all guns, or dress everyone in burquas, or exile everyone to FEMA camps, or whatever nutty idea was occupying their mind.
This could also be a teachable moment, you know.
