Google results totals as Argument or Evidence

It is common to see statements like "Goggling Dick Cheney war criminal tool get 20 gazillion results"

Those results, however, include every internet instance of Dick, of Cheney, of war, of tool, and of criminal.

It is likely that "Katy Perry war criminal tool" gets as many or more results. (And perhaps with good reason.... hmmmmm.)

For the record, when we use quotes to search for a phrase Google says, No results found for "Dick Cheney war criminal tool".

Tomorrow, however, there will be one. This post. So at least this post justifies its existence to that degree.

Seriously, though, there is no point ever using the "number of google results" thing. It's meaningless.

You just have to refine your query if you want meaningful results. randome May 2012 #2

For example, instead of "Dick Cheney war criminal tool" you would likely want to use "Dick Cheney" "war criminal".

That would give a slightly more meaningful result.

The Internet is so vast that sometimes the results ARE meaningless.
