This horror is being posted on comments lists around the net:

I just found this stunning, though I should be jaded by now. This in the comments section for CNN's article on the Cannes Film Festival. The poster, Visit_Aesops_Retreat, has hundreds of posts on the Fox site according to the profile, and quite a number on many others. I doubt he's the only one, and that's damned scary.

If you have the stomach for it, it's worth visiting the Canada Free Press site. The crazy there is frighteningly organized and thorough. The fact that the things posted are insane, conspiracy theory lies isn't even a comfort. I fear who might be influenced, and what they might do. The post reads as follows:

WARNING:

The Obama agents, through the DHS and other assorted colluders, are plotting a major ‘Reichstag’ event to generate racial riots and produce the justification for martial law, delaying the November 2012 elections, possibly indefinitely, a DHS whistleblower informed the Canada Free Press on Tuesday. The ‘Reichstag Event’ would take the form of a staged assassination attempt against Barack Obama, “carefully choreographed” and manufactured by Obama operatives. It would subsequently be blamed on “white supremacists” and used to enrage the black community to rioting and looting, the DHS source warned.

BY ALL MEANS save it and put a reminder to yourself to bring this up to them every six weeks or so. "How's your Reichstag event coming? Is it martial law yet? Looks like the November elections are still on. Guess the Obama operatives better get their collective rear in gear, don't you think?"

If someone is stupid enough to believe this, it's going to take a good deal of reminding to get them to learn even a tiny bit. So don't feel bad if they squawk about how you're taunting them, that's just ignorance leaving their brain.

Mental Illness knows no political boundaries.

Sometimes it's worded differently. One popular variant involves massive race wars, and so on and so forth on into the night.
Remember that the RW, especially the teabuggers are rugged individuals and brave patriot Americans who occasionally need to be be motivated by their herd leaders by use of fear.
Is my contempt for repugs showing?

Remember how Bush and Cheney were going to refuse to leave office and throw dissidents in FEMA camps?

And then loons on the other end simply co-opted the FEMA camp bullshit wholesale and changed Bush's name to Obama once he was in office.

This is the same thing. It's stupid nonsense.

It' more or less fear of the government, this year it's tailored for Obama.

There has been talk of martial law and Fema camps in the survivalist camp at least since I came on the internet in around 2000. Doesn't matter who the President is, the Mysterious powers that be, often member of groups that start with "B" or "I" are going to declare Martial law, take our guns and rights away, and put us all in camps.

I do have to admit that for some of that Woo section of the internet Obama makes it scarier.

Why would Obama and his people do anything like this? This election should be a bloodbath.

Sure there's lots of work to do, but I'm guessing landslide of epic proportions.
