They pretty much dumped the repubs for the most part after hurricane Katrina. Now, they vote almost straight Dem.

Thing is, they won't give up being republicans. I think they hope the party they know will come back. I don't know what to tell them since it was never really a party that supported their best interests. They're voting Dem.
