The difference between myself and a billionaire. (50,000 years)

Last edited Sun Jul 5, 2015, 11:35 PM - Edit history (4)

Ya, 1 billion dollars. But what is it really?

I see homeless going through the dumpsters regularly in my neighborhood. I always think "how close am I to being there?" Currently I estimate about 6 months without any income and I would be there. Today I thought, "how long for a billionaire?" At the same expense rate, a billionaire could go for 50,000 years of no income before they were homeless.

Crazy.

Edit - was off by a zero. It would take 50,000 years not 5,000 for the billionaire to go homeless.

He was talking about how much money had to be on the ground before he would bend over and pick it up.

A penny? Nope

A Nickel? Probably not.

A Dime? Closer.

Fifteen cents? Borderline.

A Quarter? Yeah, Neil would bend over for a quarter. So he compared that to his annual salary.

Then he did the math and compared his result with the net worth of Bill Gates.

He figured there would have to be $47,000 on the ground before Bill would bend over and pick it up!

Never mind, I'm sure a homeless man would get the same opportunity.

BTW, where was your pro-polygamy stance BEFORE the SCOTUS ruling?

It was a post of support for gay marriage, to counter the bullshit theme of "all new poly marriage people are bigoted against gays." Leave me alone, this OP has ZERO to do with the subject you are trolling about. Bring it up in a pertinent thread.

If you had a regular office color laser printer that could print on both sides of the paper, and you could print four $100 bills per sheet, it would take a century and a half to print out the Koch brother's fortune.

Just ponder that for a while. A Ricoh printer humming away since the Civil War, and all that output going to two people.
