Actually he was an idiot. And his family will probably try to find someone to sue and frankly they don't deserve a dime. People need to take responsibility for their stupid decisions. It is sad for the family that he acted in an totally irresponsible manner but the consequence of that action falls squarely upon the dead guy.

He was from Maine, but had been living in Florida. He, apparently, was visiting friends back in Maine.

So, even when it is not Florida Man, it somehow ends up becoming Florida Man. Poor Florida can't catch a break.
