Modern Right Leaning Conservatives are about this:

Modern, Right Leaning concervatives are about this:

http://www.democraticunderground.com/100211924

Their correct sounding arguements, given to them by the
Heritage Fondation, and Cyato Institute, really mask..

greed, greed and more greed

OR..simply put.

I am not paying for someone elses health insurance
..even if in the long run...

.1. everyone in this country would be healthier
2. Recieve better and more complete medical coverage
3. Over all costs for medical practices and health in this country would go way down
4. A National disgrace would be ended.

It doesn't matter,
I am not paying for someone elses health insurance.

Also,
" I will not say why I do not pay for someone else's health insurance., I will not argue the facts or reasons..I am just not going to explain it.
or....

I believe that insurance companies can handle it better..but, I know that is a lie.

This is what modern "So called "Modern Conservatives" are
about...and perhaps one more idea..

.......and perhaps.....( constant war, which someone else fights )

it's not run-of-the-mill greed.

it's pathological greed.

3. It is greed that destroys, and kills.

It destroys because... giving some help to those that need,

Taking action on health crises...
Would actually help all of us.

Proof, a very simple idea.
from a different place.

Their greed says, in a simple way,
"don't tell me what to do"
I will take care of me..
You take care of you...
They are against more rules and regulations on cars.
So..they are against simple seat belt rules in cars.

40 years later, after the battle is over,
Everywhere...you gotta put seat belts on in cars.
More rules and regulations on how cars are built.
Safety devices put in..like air bags..required..a law..

everyone accepts it now,
no big deal..

Lowest number of traffic deaths in U.S.A.
in 60 years..yes, 60 years.

12. they are against regulation because it prevents them stealing from the commons and others
Sun Dec 25, 2011, 12:36 PM

without regulation, they can extract the benefits of a process that pollutes without paying the costs of pollution because there's no mechanism for the victims of their pollution to charge them for it. certainly not beforehand, and afterwards it is very complicated and of course they fight that through "tort reform".

they also know that the market doesn't value risk properly and that people were content to be in cars without safety belts for a long time because they didn't understand the risks and didn't properly charge carmakers for making unsafe vehicles.

THIS is the bulk of how the super-rich make their money. NOT from providing honest goods at and honest price for an honest profit.

13. Whenever I hear a wingnut going on about the deficit (by which they generally mean the debt),
Sun Dec 25, 2011, 02:59 PM

I just tell them that the debt is a measure of how much the rich have stolen from us. If you want to reduce the deficit & eventually the debt, start scaling down the size of the thefts with regulation & the tax code.

I then ask if they believe in the Death Penalty, and they invariably do. I tell them that I believe in the Death Penalty too, but only for corporate "persons."

'The modern conservative is engaged in one of man's oldest exercises in moral philosophy; that is, the search for a superior moral justification for selfishness.'

-John Kenneth Galbraith

And even though JK Galbraith said this in 2002 - making the comment 'contemporary' by all standards - it holds true throughout the ages. It's the same mindset that justifies slavery, 'divine right of kings' and 'manifest destiny.'

Thanks to our Corporate system of health care in this country 40,000 people (most of the working class) die every year for lack of treatment.

To Republicans that is not a fiasco...it's just the cost of doing business.

If Jesus were around..
He would be for helping everyone get the best medical care..
He would be one of us on this.

I am not a Christian,
but I have read enough about him and his beliefs.
To know that is what he would think and do.

My wing-nut mother and her husband(not my father and don't consider him my stepfather either) are totally against having their money go to anyone or anything they don't agree with. It's the universal selfish gene all cons share. My mom didn't know how to respond to my question of how she liked her private insurance premiums paying for other's care. I had to explain the whole "risk pool" concept to her for her to get the idea. The very funny thing is now that they winter in Texas from Pennsylvania, they've twice gone to Mexico for "cheaper but just as good" health care procedures! Total frickin hypocrites!!!

There are days you pay for "their healthcare" and days when the "pay for your healthcare".

In a nationalized non-profit system 47% of the time you are paying for them and 47% of the time they are paying for you. The missing 6 percent goes to administration.

In a for-profit system 40 percent of the time you are paying for them, and 40 percent of the time they are paying for you, and 20 percent of the time you are paying salaries, the CEO, and dividend checks to the stock holders.

Now you could gamble on handling it all your self and hope to die suddenly with minimal healthcare costs (say getting run over by a bus), but chances are you would lose that bet, and winning it is no prize either.
