Alabama man shoots his TV because he's sick of hearing about Caitlyn Jenner

And in Alabama this happened.

Caitlyn Jenner is back in the spotlight after she received the Arthur Ashe courage award at the ESPYs Wednesday night, but for one man, it was the last straw.

Jenner, who came out as a transgender woman in April, has received plenty of backlash ever since ESPN announced that she would receive the award. Alabama resident Bobby Knight has had enough of her, and he wants to “remove this portion of garbage [from his] life.”

Instead of, saying, hiding Jenner’s name from Google search results or avoiding news articles about her, Knight took more drastic action. Since she appeared on his TV, he took his TV outside and shot it.

Judging from the age of that TV (90s or early 00s) I'm guessing he already has a brand spanking new flat screen TV in his domicile. I'm also guessing he couldn't find anyone to unload his old TV on so he came up with this as a way of disposing of the ol' cathode ray tube and to look like a proper homophobic redneck in the process.

about the great ESPY show last night until it was ruined by an award to an idiot who didn't deserve it. Everyone at the table ignored him.

Too bad. Lots of great things can happen when the TV isn't on. Or if you change the channel once in a while. Maybe just watch the weather channel 24-7. I don't think there's too much Caitlyn Jenner coverage there.

once the endless political commercials start, if I had something to shoot it with.

I will have to settle for tossing it out the window, or watching TCM.

We're already starting to see commercials from dipshits like Perry and Jindal here in Iowa. I have to fight down the urge to throw something at the TV when these two assbites come on the air. Thank GOD for the mute button.

My television plays movies I wish to see. That's all it does.

No broadcast, no satellite, no cable... no ads except for the occasional trailers on DVDs and tapes.

but since TCM got a lousy programmer who seems to be endlessly reliving his youth, I'm thinking of getting it disconnected. Amazon Prime will substitute nicely, as would Netflix.

Most of the time, I've found myself over at You Tube watching things like Tales from the Green Valley.

ETA: and no, Ms. Jenner has not made an appearance on any of the channels I watch. I think she resides mostly on all the wretchedly bad 24 hour "news" channels, something I avoid like the plague they are.
