Ohio State QB Shuts Down Fan Who Told Him To Stay Out Of 'Black Lives Matter'

College Football Playoff National Champion and potential starting quarterback for The Ohio State University Cardale Jones cemented his support of the Black Lives Matter movement on Thursday morning after a fan told him told him to concentrate on football.

Jones — who rose to national prominence after becoming the third starting quarterback for the Buckeyes in 2014 — stopped a fan in his tracks after the fan told the young football player to keep his mind on winning another championship.

-snip-

The fan, who went by the username @DGus1228, deleted his account shortly thereafter, but not before TPM got a screengrab of the exchange.

Maybe a little less restraint might lead to a few less murders. It ain't workin' like it is.

Nothing new. they are part of a team and they're actions or statements reflect on those teams. Some players are let go for things they've said. Thats the way it goes. You know it when you sign the contract.

Love this exchange. I loathe Ohio State and Urban Meyers (I'm a FL Gators fan so don't forgive him for lying and leaving us high and dry) but have to say I like this guy Jones. He's smart, funny, caring and tuned in - good for him. I wish him well, even though I hate his team.

bet all of them will weigh in on this on the asshole fan's side

what will they say? unless the player is a superstar they'll kick him around for being political. keeping politics out of sports. right?

yeah, right. the rw radio monopoly would fall apart if not for 90+ universities renting their mascots to the 270+ limbaugh/kkk stations to help them sell their lies and racism,

if/when that happens, his supporters need to protest at the university itself and get it off rw radio. that will hurt rw radio. and the more that happens with those 90 schools pissing all over their mission statements, the faster democracy will get back to real.

I have never, ever, in my life and in the existence of twitter, seen anyone use 140 characters to such BRILLIANT effect!

If that does not encapsulate the FEELING, and the whole "GET A CLUE" perspective, I don't know what does!

I have no idea who Mr. Jones is, never heard of him quite honestly (I follow sports indifferently) but he is a HERO to me....
