Musician and National Rifle Association board member Ted Nugent and former U.S. Rep. Allen West -- both proponents of gun rights -- stopped by the scene of The Grand 16 movie theater in Lafayette Saturday morning to lay flowers for the victims of Thursday night's shooting.
Nugent is in town to make an appearance at the Louisiana Outdoor Expo.
Asked about gun rights, Nugent said he was only there to show support for the victims: "I think it's inappropriate to even approach that subject," he said. "I think it's all about prayers for the victims and the families, showing support for the community. Instead of hardware, I think we should talk about heart-ware."
West, however, said political policy could have made a difference in this case.

"Instead of hardware, I think we should talk about heart-ware."
Funny how gun control is the only (?) topic that never has an "appropriate" discussion time.
