(26,001 posts)With his turn in Help! being #3 on the McKern list?
I once worked with the daughter of one of the best justices in the history of the MN Supreme Court who was a hell of a lawyer in her own right. Somehow Rumpole came up and Anne said Rumpole was her dad's favorite fictional lawyer and one of the most accurate portrayals of a lawyer's life in all of literature.
How could anyone not love Rumpole?

(26,001 posts)...single greatest, most definitive work?
Especially the whole interrogation/"breakdown" sequence with McGoohan in the final two-parter....

(582 posts)do you think he will go away?
Don't get me wrong,he's a good VP and likable and all...but if we can keep this between a great candidate and an awful one,it will be a lot easier getting Bernie elected.

one group will immediately declare him unelectable because of how hateful his supporters are.
Surprisingly, this group will consist primarily of Chafee backers.

(6,604 posts)the Chafee group is that there is NOT A SINGLE MEMBER blocked from it, an obvious indication of freewheeling discussion marked by a strong spirit of tolerance.
The bad news is that it has no subscribers or host(s).
I figured I'd give the group a mention.

Although if it came down to that I could pull the lever for Joe in the general. And I can't say that for HRC. Joe has a good heart and never cashed in/sold out like the Clintons did.
ETA: Jill Biden would be a marvelous FLOTUS. That he chose her tells me a lot about what kind of a person he is at heart.

(33,688 posts)the more I hope she stays in the Senate. She's a worthy successor to Ted K.
All bets are off if President-elect Sanders offers the AG position, however. Expensive pants would be loaded all over Wall Street if that came to pass.

and I think the hint is his ubiquitous presence with Obama on all the 'big' victories recently.

(10,007 posts)Over the past 20 years, MBNA has been Bidens single largest contributor. And as the New York Times and Wall Street Journal note, Bidens son Hunter was hired out of law school by MBNA and later worked as a lobbyist for the company.
The Times also details just how helpful Biden has been to MBNA and the credit card industry. The senator was a key supporter of an industry-favorite billthe Bankruptcy Abuse Prevention and Consumer Protection Act of 2005that actually made it harder for consumers to get protection under bankruptcy.
That bankruptcy bill was very, very bad for ordinary working Americans as well as the middle class. And they got it in place just before the bubble burst in 2008. Nice timing guys - it's as if you predicted that there would be a massive number of bankruptcies in the near future.

(98,883 posts)Hillary supporters may go for Biden, but I think Biden will have to make his case in order to get more support
He could run as a continuation of President Obama's policies, that may be an advantage

(135,425 posts)It'll get interesting if he does jump in. I will say, he's late to the money party. Very late, indeed. I also think it's unwise to make major decisions while one is still in the stages of deep grief, but he'll do what he wants to do, I'm sure.

(22,308 posts)People will examine his position on the issues and his record and decide if they should support him as our nominee or not.
I support Bernie because of where he is on the issues and his record but I am persuadable.
Joe could win me over. Hell, Hillary could win me over (although that is very doubtful).
I hope it does not escalate the tensions here. Things between the 2 warring camps are already bad enough and there still won't be a vote cast for almost 6 months.
