Dem senator backs defunding Planned Parenthood

Sen. Joe Manchin (D-W.Va.) said Monday that he supports cutting off federal funds for Planned Parenthood, hours ahead of a procedural vote on the issue in the Senate.

“Like many West Virginians, I am very troubled by the callous behavior of Planned Parenthood staff in recently released videos," Manchin said in a statement. "Until these allegations have been answered and resolved, I do not believe that taxpayer money should be used to fund this organization."

I'm from WV. Manchin may be about the best we can hope for for a democrat from WV.

He will definitely vote with the dems more than a republican would but he is by no means pro choice or populist.

Sadly with WV getting older, poorer and whiter the days of dems from WV like Byrd or Rockefeller are gone unless the dems can send some help in to diversify our econonomy so that the better educated more liberal people here can find jobs and vote instead of moving out of state.

7. I oppose Joe Manchin for any further elections,

even if the seat goes to the GOP (which will likely happen in 2018 anyways). I will not support a Zell Miller wannabe.
