The long-shot prospect of taxpayer help to renovate Wrigley Field grew more remote Thursday, upended by revelations that the patriarch of the Chicago Cubs' ownership team had been offered a plan for using a super PAC to run racially tinged attack ads that linked President Barack Obama to his former pastor, the Rev. Jeremiah Wright.

and with the upgrades the stadium is nicer necessitating a raise in ticket prices, hence more money in the owners pockets. Something wrong with this picture.
I'd like to go watch some of the games but the price is way out of my reach. Sure we have the money to buy a couple tickets now and then but I simply see a better return on my money spent if I spend it otherwise.

believe working Americans are their private venture capital providers. We exist solely to ensure they keep every penny while we pay for their business expansions and other necessities, and when faced with losses, we foot the bill, too.

Once working Americans, on both sides of the aisle, understand this unbalanced, unfair relationship and our how we've been pushed into this lowly position in our society that has been put on us by our employees in Congress, governors mansions, legislatures, and White House, we'll finally use the power of our vote given under the Constitution to vote in our best interests, and reclaim our position of power.

Being a White Sox fan that's not too much to ask for. I haven't been in the dump since 1972. I hear they have some flush toilets now.

The fun here is its old man Ricketts whose throwing the inheritance money around...but it's also his money that bought the team. His kids are the ones scrambling. There's one daughter whose been cited as an Obama bundler and Tom...who "runs" the team whose been trying to swing a deal with Rahm. In a season where the Cubbies look like a Class A team (White Sox aren't that much better) and more people are showing up at ballgames dressed at empty seats (yesterday's Cubs/Sox game at Wrigley WASN'T a sell-out), this bad PR doesn't help. The Cubbie Ricketts backed off this story faster than the old man did.

The bottom line is the old man has an itchy check writing finger...he wants to throw his money around with the big boys. He just found the wrong grifters...but eventually he'll throw some money into some attack on this administration or Democrats in general.

The interesting and untold story here how this big money being thrown around by the rushpublican superpacs and the campaign "consultants" and other slime merchants who see a quick buck to be made here with a "slick" campaign.

are sorry their names got out to the public, as the publicity isn't kind...and, shouldn't be. The Supremes should be ashamed for what they created.

On the other hand, at least we are putting names/faces/reputations with the contributions. I'd love to know if the Koch bros. have lost any money from their "charity" to the Pugs. I've certainly quit buying their products.

One of the reasons they support union busting. They just don't feel rich enough.

My hopes are that the costs to these high rollers are so much with so little in return they'll start throwing their money away elsewhere. However I don't see that happening anytime soon. Their money are their egos...they spend on their pet politicians and special interests since they want to feel and be privilidged...when that money doesn't deliver then maybe we'll see a change.

The real test here is to see if you flood the airwaves with unlmited noise will it affect the political process. While negative ads do work they do have to have some basis in reality...some kind of real scandal or personality trait that makes the negative stick. My hopes are these shitstains throw so much money away they get gunshy in the future and maybe a big loss in November may do the trick. We'll find out if democracy can be bought...if its money not ideas that win elections.
