This guy gets it: "And let’s remember that capitalists without customers are out of business."

Raise Taxes on Rich to Reward True Job Creators

~snip~

I’m a very rich person. As an entrepreneur and venture capitalist, I’ve started or helped get off the ground dozens of companies in industries including manufacturing, retail, medical services, the Internet and software. I founded the Internet media company aQuantive Inc., which was acquired by Microsoft Corp. (MSFT) in 2007 for $6.4 billion. I was also the first non-family investor in Amazon.com Inc. (AMZN)

Even so, I’ve never been a “job creator.” I can start a business based on a great idea, and initially hire dozens or hundreds of people. But if no one can afford to buy what I have to sell, my business will soon fail and all those jobs will evaporate.

That’s why I can say with confidence that rich people don’t create jobs, nor do businesses, large or small. What does lead to more employment is the feedback loop between customers and businesses. And only consumers can set in motion a virtuous cycle that allows companies to survive and thrive and business owners to hire. An ordinary middle-class consumer is far more of a job creator than I ever have been or ever will be.

Lots of Proles get fooled by the Billionaire Class into doing their bidding.

They think they'll get invited to the Big Table one day, when in all reality, the Oligarchs laugh at the fools they hire to do their bidding.

but you know that. Taxing those who have higher income is fair, and that is good for "mentality".
Have you actually seen the video or read his logic? It's kind of something you can't spin... ( well YOU could), but
most DUers won't.

this guy nails the whole rigged game, exposing it for what it really is,
in just under 6 minutes, so even a 3rd grader could understand it.

An amazing piece of work. I wish EVERY voter would be locked in
a room and be required to watch this before being able to vote.

.. well not really, but you get the idea, of how strongly I feel about
this particular TED talk, which BTW was BANNED from being on TED
website, because it was too damn good at exposing the 1% for who
they really are .. leeches & parasites .. and we can't have people
thinking that now, can we?

Here is more:

When businesspeople take credit for creating jobs, it is like squirrels taking credit for creating evolution. In fact, it’s the other way around.

It is unquestionably true that without entrepreneurs and investors, you can’t have a dynamic and growing capitalist economy. But it’s equally true that without consumers, you can’t have entrepreneurs and investors. And the more we have happy customers with lots of disposable income, the better our businesses will do.

That’s why our current policies are so upside down. When the American middle class defends a tax system in which the lion’s share of benefits accrues to the richest, all in the name of job creation, all that happens is that the rich get richer.

And that’s what has been happening in the U.S. for the last 30 years.

Let's break it down so simply that the most ignorant tea-bagger will get it (even if he/she doesn't want to):
The middle class patronizes businesses on a daily basis, be they fast food establishments, department and grocerie stores, electronic stores, etc.
Every dollar spent goes toward securing a job (waiters, clerks, stockboys, truck drivers, etc).
So, when the middle class has money to spend, a job is created.
The Eisenhower years were considered the most prosperous in recent history. The wealthy paid a tax rate of 80% but the middle class was allowed to grow and expand, creating cash flow and a revenue base because of that cash flow and the various taxes paid.
The wealthy, even if they were allowed to be tax exempt, would create as few jobs as possible because, in their minds, every salary paid is money out of their pockets.

Doesn't matter what brilliant product you come up with, if no one wants to or can buy it, no one will be employed making it.

thinking people. But right now, the way they are acting, they think they don't need us. With everything going to the top, they could get that same money without us. At the end they will see it doesn't work. But they have the luxury of that time, we don't.

Demand for goods and services drives the economy. Business don't want to hire labor, except as a last resort.
