Carly Fiorina spent the day traveling, bouncing between television interviews, taking selfies, fielding calls from giddy supporters and trying to capitalize on her highly praised performance in a debate for lower-tier Republican presidential candidates Thursday night, the Washington Post reports.
The moment was months in the making for Fiorina, the former chief executive of Hewlett-Packard who launched a long-shot bid that has yet to gain traction in early polls. She has pitched herself as the GOPs lone woman who can mercilessly criticize Democratic front-runner Hillary Rodham Clinton and joke about hormones in the White House without being accused of sexism. She has tied some of her campaign stops to Clintons schedule and, at times, has seemed to play up her femininity, picking sundresses over suits, pink over black.

(24,461 posts)Does anyone remember how she
* fired 30,000 workers from HP,
* infamously declared that "No job is America's God Given Right Anymore",
* oversaw a disastrous merger with Compaq,
* tripled her salary,
* tried to procure bonuses to redecorate her mansionS,
* spent HP (much of it going to execs) into a five-year P/E stagnation,
* presided over a 50% plunge in stock value,
* when she got released by the board, got a total of $42 MILLION in severance for this rather below-average job ("That'll show HER!" .
SMELL THE MERITOCRACY!
Oh, and she recently made the dubious claim that American workers "watch porn all day long and get paid exactly the same way as somebody whos trying to do their job".
Government should not ever be run like a for-profit business. Run very fast away from anyone who thinks like this.

(23,664 posts)Not, of course, that it was intended to be not-for-profit. She just did a good job in making it that way.

(49,212 posts)She can go out and be the attack dog, and deflect any criticism of sexist positions. A more religious candidate can also use her to shore up weaknesses on the business flank of the party, and she makes the party seem less like the party of sweaty southern god botherers.

They are also pushing Kasich but it remains to be seen if they can actually make people like him.
I think they are panicking a bit over Jeb and KochWalker's poor performances.

(36,463 posts)And at the end of the day, she, not Trump will get the bounce. As evil as she is, she's a fast study well versed in the business realm and can think on her feet; Carly can take a ding, Trump's ego can't. When the showdown comes, it's going be entertaining to watch, but my Magic 8 Ball says Fiorina will prevail and take Trump down a notch in the eyes of the public.

(20,888 posts)She's a failed business genius that now appears on TV constantly. She's great at one liners and smears. She attacks Hillary constantly in ways that are great for FOX viewers but not great for attracting people with a soul to their name. She was as mean to Boxer as she is currently to Hillary. It didn't work out well for her. She lost to Boxer by 10 percent and she isn't likely to perform better than that once the campaign gets around to being about politics again. Her made for FOX B.S. doesn't cut it with the real world.
