The "black lives matter" protest does not make sense. Accusing liberals or progressives of being white supremacists is absurd. Why are they not attacking the real white supremacists? I still think something is wrong with this protest.
I keep hearing from GOPPERS that Dems are the racists and dividers. So what the H gives?

(36,437 posts)Funny to see the only successful protest movement of the last 10 years jeered by so-called progressives who constantly complain about there being no more "protests." Black Lives Matter have they asses in the streets, which is more than can be said for the FDR fetishists and so-called progressives.
My God. The racism is deeper than we thought.

(14,459 posts)From people like me who are running equality movements. They seem happy with with whoever is sponsoring them. That in itself is more than a little odd...you'd think they'd want the help, wouldn't you? You know, to actually fix the problem, like we did when he flag came down?
BLM made the mistake of painting itself as not a protest movement today by taking a purely partisan action while ignoring new victims.

I know racist fake progressives when I see them, tho.

I do hope #BLM agrees it was a hijacking. I don't actually use Twitter. Any sign of that?

If they are calling Bernie a White Supremacist and officially allying with Hillary, I have to ask...why? What is Hillary offering them besides pronouncements that their issues are "not economic"? That would be like giving the finger to the political left as well.

(14,459 posts)But we really don't know. It could be something as petty as money, or the promise of access to the WH when HRC wins.
Either way, it's very Judas'y to the people who are fighting for equality. We know Hillary is not for it.

(3,732 posts)A little pause, though not much of it.
Apparently Bernie does have pockets of white supremacist supporters, and the #BLM folk have been trying to call attention to that.
I still think this works strongly to Hillary's benefit and there is no reason this element can't dovetail with a Hillary operation, but I think that important piece of info should be on the table.
If Bernie is aware of white supremacists among his supporters, he should call them out.

(10,602 posts)The protest was so misguided. And these protesters will alienate the very constituency who really supports civil rights. They certainly would not get my support if they keep attacking Democrats over civil rights. Democrats passed the legislation and the GOP has been all about gutting civil rights. I am sure that the GOP will be happy to help these protesters.
And I still think something is fishy about this particular protest. And it did not accomplish anything positive. Bernie deserves better.
