If the Republicans were to win the Senate and the White House...?

And, God forbid, keep the House!

What could we anticipate for the next 2 or 4 years?

Would the deficit go down? Would we spend more on defense? Would the poverty level for children go up? What programs would they cut?

Would the Democrats be able to stop any of their agenda?

This is an awful thought but it could happen if the Democrats do not get to the polls in large numbers. The re-call election in Wisconsin in a couple of weeks will tell us a lot...

This uncertainty is like a political purgatory of sorts. Especially when the Republican Leader, Boehner, threatens to shut down the government again, after they caused the credit-rating downgrade just last year.

I guess we should all just try to stay positive? I know it is difficult to do sometimes...

question about it. Increased concentration of wealth in the hands of a shrinking few. Repeal of Roe v. Wade and attacks on Griswold v. New Hampshire (1964 USSC decision that found a fundamental right of privacy re birth control and became a precedent for Roe). Several major American cities going the way of New Orleans post-Katrina.

I'm not voting FOR Obama. I'm voting AGAINST Romney and the Repigs. It's my civic duty.

Instead, devote as much time as you can to electing Obama or Congressional Dems--pick a favorite campaign, give it your all as a volunteer, and trust that everyone else on the side of good is doing the same thing.

If the Republicans win the Senate, I doubt it will be enough to overcome the 60 votes needed to pass much of anything. So, there would be even more gridlock than what we're seeing now.

Fortunately, neither will happen!

I would seriously start thinking about becoming and illegal alien in another country. If it does happen, I kind of hope changes take effect immediately. Let these Teabaggers support their aging parents, fight the poor on the streets. I know it includes us too, but if we leave then it won't be our problem anymore. If the election is this close after ALL the evidence shows the Repukes aren't on our (human) side, maybe this country is done once and for all. Let the religious right take over and ruin it even more. Let the idiots run the Asylum.

With all the fracking getting ready to ruin our drinking water, it might not take the Repukes to make this land unlivable. Although they would probably allow fracking in more places.

That's practically guaranteed since they're losing rights as we speak in dozens of states already.
