This discussion thread was locked as off-topic by Hassin Bin Sober (a host of the General Discussion forum).
Back in 2008, and even thru the years, the Clintons weren't the most popular people on Daily Kos. "Neocon," "corporatists," and "scandals" and "myths" (like the Perot-myth) were commonplace around there, and still sometimes are, EXCEPT that looking at the diaries about them there, I see, thankfully, nothing about the email "scandal," "Hillary took from private prisons," or Clinton Foundation complaints.
I use DU because in 2008 up to the start of primary season, DU was more fair to Clintonites, and moderate viewpoints on other issues. I also stay away from DKos because sometimes the diaries on other issues are rather extreme. But why is Kos taking the lead on disallowing and not enabling the GOP for 2016? Why is DU allowing email-"scandal" diaries, and then people even bringing up Whitewater, File/Travel "gates" (for purposes other than pointing out the BS behind them being "scandals?"
Why is this site enabling the GOP by allowing diaries on the email non-scandal, or the private prisons crap? The jury system seems to be mob rule with regard to this. You literally need to post Monica videos to get unhelpful comments hidden. If we wanna prevent the GOP from winning, we cannot let them point to a Democratic (not socialist or green) blog and say "liberals 'admit' it too." We cannot allow other progressives who are looking for a blog to expose themselves to things likely to keep them home in November 2016.
Everytime someone reports hateful comments, the jury comments are always "its primary season, get over it." That is mob rule, the kind of thing that could elect Donald Trump or John E. Bush as president.
Its ok to support Sanders, O'Malley, Biden, whoever, just as opposing them is also OK. But it is not OK to use cooked-up "scandals" like the email bit, Whitewater, private prisons, or CF attacks. Ever!
Yes, I know I've been here for whatever time I have, but I honour and revere Democratic heroes like the Clintons. We are Democratic, not "socialist" Underground, so no matter your tenure, if you smear Democratic Heroes, you're hurting the cause.

I've said repeatedly what we did in this situation in Bartcop's forum, but it falls upon deaf ears over here.

(8,976 posts)There's your problem right there. And that you can name at least four major groups of scandal types you would like to see banned from discussion ON A DISCUSSION BOARD. And Oh-accusing DU of "enabling" the GOP will NOT win you any points with the admins.

Now if Mrs Clinton gets elected the precedent has been established....those who are opposed to her now shall be allowed to snipe away at every lil' thing

I don't get annoyed by all the silly squabbling.

(11,138 posts)I guess we are gonna need a Grand Poobah of What Is An Allowable Clinton Discussion Topic. You want the job?
And BTW what the FUCK is this "heroes" nonsense? The Clintons are not heroes, and neither is anyone else running for President. Politicians are not heroic figures, nor should they be. The second you start seeing someone in such terms you lose the ability to objectively evaluate their job performance.

(2,707 posts)easy, like Fast/Furious, New Black Panthers, ACORN, Whitewater, File/Travel"gates," etc. Some of the investigations on these wasted taxpayer money too.

(3,182 posts)that some of us are just tired, bone tired, of Clinton scandals?
that some of us just don't want our government, not only like it is today, but consumed with putting a Clinton, any Clinton, in jail by the republicans?
that some of us NEED GOVERNMENT TO WORK.
I don't CARE whether these are "cooked up" scandals or not.
I can't take another 8 years of a Clinton Presidency.
