30th ANNIVERSARY OF IRAN-CONTRA. Aug. 20, 2015

Last edited Thu Aug 20, 2015, 11:47 AM - Edit history (1)

On this day 30 years ago, 96 TOW anti-tank missiles were supplied to Iran, marking the start of the Iran-Contra Scandal.

And this truly was a SCANDAL, unlike, say, impeaching a president for having an extramarital affair, or Benghazi crap, or email nonsense, etc.

Remember this guy?

He was in charge of our country's foreign policy. The country didn't know it, though.

Or how about The Spook approving it all?

And who could possibly forget the lovely Ms. Shredder, for which we have a fine picture of?

http://americandad.wikia.com/wiki/File:Fawn_Hall.jpg

(She would have shredded the Constitution itself, if Ollie had asked).

This guy famously declared that he was "out of the loop," expecting people to buy that.

He would go on to become the Pardoner-in-Chief. Cap-the-Knife (Casper Weinberger, U.S. Secretary of Defense) needs a pardon -- no problem! Elliot Abrams needs a pardon -- no problem!

Bush I would be a major reason (but NOT the only reason) why this poor guy

Would be stymied, stymied, and stymied again. You can read more about our tragic hero here: http://www.globalresearch.ca/iran-contra-how-lawrence-walsh-exposed-ronald-reagan-george-h-w-bush-and-high-level-malfeasance/5375446

Sigh.
A sad day indeed:

IRAN-CONTRA SHOULD HAVE LED TO THE IMPEACHMENT OF REAGAN. I believe that any allegation that he was napping during it all is bogus (subsequent information suggesting as much).

1. Iran-Contra was a sideshow to Bush's BCCI-Safari Club deal with Prince al-Turki

A project within a program turning over CIA covert activities to the Saudis to avoid oversight (interference) by other parts of the US Government. See, http://journals.democraticunderground.com/leveymg/280

So was Whitewater (a distraction from the wholesale looting of S&Ls by Bush confederates and their bin Mahfouz/bin Laden business partners), Filegate (Hillary's BCCI billing records at Rose), and what the late Gary Webb described as, The Dark Alliance (Mena Airport was just one terminal for the spook-Mafia network).

Yeah, it should have got Reagan inpeached.
Howewer, as Bush pardoned the criminals involved, more surprisingly didnt next President Clinton did that much and also pardoned involved people.

This is the date I would call the beginning of Iran-Contra.

The Ronald Reagan Iran Contra Press Conference With Edwin Meese

"Because somebody didn't tell him" is why Reagan did not know. How could Ed Meese know that at that point in his "investigation"? Blatant cover-up from the first sentence ouy of the AG's mouth.

7. Well, Wikipedia gives the start date as Aug. 20...
Thu Aug 20, 2015, 11:35 AM
Aug 2015

...and that makes some degree of sense (being the date of the first arms transfer), and that makes some degree of sense, given that the start of Watergate is generally thought to be the day of the break-in, not when Nixon first talked about it.

4. It's possible that a moron like ronald reagan wasn't informed about any of it. Why would they bother

reagan simply did whatever he was told to do by the bunch of right wing industrialists that were running the show.

If you have the time, I recommend watching from 15:44 to 27:07 (about 11.5 minutes) of the video below. (Actually, I do recommend watching the entire video, but especially the aforementioned 11-minute segment)

Spy agencies would never co-opt, deceive, trap, blackmail, and even kill people. They play with duckies and bunnies all day.

13. Nixon should have been impeachment and jailed, Ford gave him a free ticket.

Reagan should have gone to jail and Dubya too along with Cheney. The Repukes get away with murder and it all started with Nixon imo.
