Update:Racist Woman Spits In Black Man's Face

After being assaulted by a woman who had repeatedly called him the n word in South Carolina, Jermarro Dantzler, 22, was in handcuffs, on his way to jail on charges of strong-armed robbery.

That was, until he showed Myrtle Beach police his cellphone footage.

The cops then removed his handcuffs and arrested the woman instead.

The Wisconsin man was in town to enjoy Memorial Day weekend and happened to be at a Rent Me Scooter Store when he witnessed a store associate later identified as Tara Belcher, 28, in a heated exchange with a customer where she berated him with racial slurs.

Belcher was immediately fired over the incident and as she waited outside the store for her ride to pick her up, Dantzler, armed with a camera, decided to approach her about some of the things he overheard her say.

He was not just talking to her, he was videotaping her.

No such thing as "inevitable consequences" either. Lot's of times people get spit at and slapped and punched, and they do not dare retaliate. That's why he felt free to escalate it, because he knew she could not retaliate. All she could do was call the cops. Interesting that he apparently wasn't worried about the racist police and hightail it out of there.

I'm strongly in favor of speaking up when racism is happening. We have to intervene. But this woman's employer had already intervened, by terminating her. She was kicked out of the store waiting for a ride to take her away. At that point, approaching her was an asshole move.

In the video she seem to say that she's a manager (not was a manager )in between a few bleeps, so it's hard to be certain. Dantzler says that he was wanted to video her saying things so that he could show it to the managers or other higher-ups.

Did you see some other report of the event where it indicates that he knew she was fired?


Dantzler deserved to be arrested for slapping her. Both of them committed assault and battery.

I don't call it self defense for him to hit her after she spit at him while he was harassing her. He inserted himself into a situation that had already been handled. She was fired for racist, unprofessional behavior towards a customer. So why does this guy feel compelled to follow her out of the store and film himself bothering her?
