North Carolina Pastor Calls For Death of 'Queers & Homosexuals'

Pastor Charles L. Worley of Providence Road Baptist Church -- located at 3283 Providence Mill Rd, Maiden, NC 28650 -- is seen here from a service posted to the church's website dated May 13, 2012 calling for the starvation and ultimate death of "queers and homosexuals."

His congregation should be ashamed of themselves for following a person with such murderous and un-christian like beliefs.

is where his logic leads to them not having children and thus dying out...

does he not realize that the VAST majority of gay/lesbian children are born to STRAIGHT people???

sheer genius...among other things.

Or he's going to come up with a weak cop-out like, he just meant they will die earlier because of their sinful ways, or, he didn't mean it literally. No chance he will ever apologize.

And so are their excuses. They'll never apologize because we live in a country where there's no such thing as personal responsibility.

While it is true that homosexuals do not reproduce, his logic is flawed. They (homosexuals) were produced by heterosexuals. More would still be born. I think these radical preachers think about homosexuality just a little to much. They are more in the ilk of Ted Haggard. In politics the people who take a hard line on homosexuals are most often closeted.

Thus, with no more of them being "recruited", they would all eventually disappear.

Though he would never admit it, he has a lot in common with Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad in this regard.

You can't say he was calling for their starvation. He said he would "drop food in" and "feed them". His plan is still despicable obviously. I just wanted to point that out before people repost this on facebook or somewhere and some right winger does.

its the one my wife grew up in.

Her father was the choir director for 30 years. Every time we go to their church, there are fewer and fewer people. Almost no young people.

They record the sermon each week so that their elderly members who can no longer attend can see the service on-line.

Although ... as I think about my wife's old church ... at one time its congregation was active, and I suspect financially well off. Its been there for a very long time, probably no mortgage ... taxes and upkeep ... no idea how much money they have as assets.

A few years back, her old church added big screen TVs so they could do the hymns in Karaoke style. The words for the hymns roll up the screen like a teleprompter.

I hate it, I can't pretend to be unable to find the hymn. And no one wants to hear me sing!!

It would be interesting to find out who put it on the internet.

Maybe some congregation member has a liberal son or daughter or caretaker.

The person who does the video and posts it for my in-laws church is a member of the church ... but I don't think he edits it, or makes any decisions about uploading it.

The sermon is what it is. He records it and uploads it.

So those too old to come to church can still "enjoy" it.

I doubt the idea that anyone else sees it, or that that some might be offended, ever crossed his mind.

This is reminiscent of a loyal Nazi speaking in 1939, and of Nazi justification of genocide.

And while I'm at it, I have no doubt that if RW fundamentalists ever got enough political control over this country, many would openly advocate for the imprisonment, and maybe the execution, of all people born LGBT.

They are, on the whole, a conservative hate group, and the majority of them lack a mature self-actualized conscience.
