(116,017 posts)Positive threads about Democratic Underground or its members are are permitted.
Threads complaining about Democratic Underground or its members; threads complaining about jury decisions, locked threads, suspensions, bannings, or the like; and threads intended to disrupt or negatively influence the normal workings of Democratic Underground and its community moderating system are not permitted.
Looks like you got a hidden post of a nasty reply. Reading your other replies, I am surprised juries hid only 1 as many are quite impolite. When were you polite?

(16,286 posts)Being polite is nice if discussing the most recent book club selection while enjoying tea and crumpets, but while talking about the gun situation, there should be no politeness, not yet.
The pro gun side simply has not earned it.

(785 posts)I could care less if anyone else is carrying guns. I'm not scared to go to the mall or the movies.
The crime rate has fallen pretty consistently across the board since the 70s, and even if it hadn't, I wouldn't be cowering in fear of some sniper on every corner.
There's bigger fish to fry here. I don't see the same panicked attitude towards the real killers... Heart disease and Cancer. If you want to really save lives, you'll be donating your time and resources to figuring out those little conundrums.

(6,409 posts)I think the ranting and name-calling makes it more likely they will be on the lookout for your posts. It's fine you want to call them out, but try to respect them as fellow people, fellow Democrats, while you're doing it. I mean, you don't have to, and I can't make you, but I think you'll be more successful in the long run.

(36,930 posts)The freedumb lovers don't realize they are causing to society to be less free due to their frenzied pre-occupation with automatic killing devices.
Sure as shit, if they don't stop their stupid shit, we will have police on every corner armed to the gills to "protect" innocents from the assholes who don't have the foresight to realize they caused the police state.
If they don't give up on their irrational love of feedumb of guns for all, that is what society will end up being. A police state. How else is one to keep people safe from these lunatics without more protection from them.
Give it up gun nuts. You are not only causing major damage to innocents, but will cause this countries public spaces have to guarded like it's Fort Knox. Police everywhere, searches, scans. Fuck.that.shit.

(19,705 posts)I'm not sure how you get all of that from the cold hard fact that 99.9% of the 125 million+ legal gun owners in this country have never shot or killed another human, have never committed a crime with a gun, are are least likely compared to the general population to ever do any of that in the future.
But hey, who can argue with solid facts like

But Hell NO they too worried about their precious semi auto's they paid a few hundred for to make themselves feel safe even when it makes them and EVERYONE ELSE less safe, even that simple concept escapes them.

(36,930 posts)That has absolutely no impact upon you at all?
The ease of availability of guns is what is causing this issue. And the reason it's so easy to get them is because the ones who wouldn't use them for a bad purpose think any control over them, is infringing upon their freedom.
And that is what makes them gun nuts. It makes absolutely no sense. And yes they do have some responsibility in this.

"you don't" = statement
"don't you" = question
Do you understand? That is also a question. "You do understand?" however is not a question but a statement.
See?
