Barrett and Walker trade barbs over Doe probe of SECRET emails

Milwaukee Mayor Tom Barrett on Monday called on Republican Gov. Scott Walker to immediately release thousands of emails that were sent with a secret email system that Walker's former aides are accused of using for campaign business on taxpayers' time during his time as Milwaukee County executive.

Barrett, who is challenging Walker for governor in the June 5 recall election, said it is time for Walker to answer questions about what his involvement was, if any, in the email system.

During a news conference at his campaign headquarters, Barrett, a Democrat, noted that three Walker aides had been charged in the case.

"We know that media reports have stated that thousands of emails related to the case have been turned over to prosecutors. What we don't know is Scott Walker's role in all of this. It is time that he answers the questions as to what his involvement was in this scandal," Barrett said.
