The Democrats are hard on their own.
A very bright and popular Democrat, Mayor Cory Booker, screwed up on national TV on Sunday. And the Democrats were not in a forgiving mode.
"Moderate" seems to have become a bad word with both Parties now. Those politicians that are still trying to play both sides of the fence for their own benefit are behind the curve. They will pay a heavy price if they choose to take the side of the political enemy.
Mr Booker fancied himself a different kind of politician, an independent with his own thoughts. But, he didn't realize that there are no independents in today's politics. Either you are with us or you are against us. There is no place for disloyalty.
Perhaps Mr Booker will have learned his lesson? This is an unusually vile and deceitful Republican Party that is standing in the way of progress, protesting big government and screaming for more big taxcuts for their wealthy overlords. It is the worst type of judgement to join forces with these treasonous schemers. It will not be accepted.
It is sad that an up and comer like Cory Booker had to be the first to step into the snare. Now he finds himself hanging upside down in the trap, begging to be cut down and to be forgiven. I hope the other moderates in the Party are paying attention.

He might just be dead in the water.
