He added: And thats why Ive advocated a proportional tax system. You make $10 billion, you pay a billion. You make $10, you pay one. And everybody gets treated the same way. And you get rid of the deductions, you get rid of all the loopholes.
Which religion's sins, Christian ISIS equivalent.

(5,841 posts)Wait, so God is human then? Or does he just sit in the clouds staring at everyone to make sure they follow his rules? Sounds pretty creepy.
Also, you mean a Biblical tax system based on Jesus's teachings? I don't know much about them, but I don't think Jesus would advocate rich people getting to keep more of their money than poor people. Jesus seemed to be pretty much the opposite of that.
Do these people actually think about their own religion, and what Jesus actually did? Oh wait, I get it now - Jesus is just their trump card to pull out to get stupid people to believe everything they say. "I'm doing this because Gawd wants it that way!" I wonder if they're actually religious, or if it's all just a ruse to fool morons?
Edit: It's satire, I guess. "Oh..." Sadly, this is one of those "It's satire but actually true" things for most of the Republicans out there now.

(460 posts)Seeing that it is religiously based it would be discriminatory against those who have rejected religion, might as well have the tax system based on Jack and the Bean Stalk or the Three Little Pigs or Snow White and the Seven Dwarves no different all nothing but made up stories IMHO.
I bet we would see a big up tick in those who suddenly become atheists to get out of paying taxes.
The rest of ya, enjoy paying your religiously based taxes!

(51,403 posts)But, as the previous poster noted, I won't have to pay any since I'm an atheist. If Kim doesn't have to obey the law because of her beliefs, ditto for me.

(36,439 posts)But Ben Carson is right about one thing, he doesn't know how it would work, he is "less familiar with the methodology of religious tools and the way in which theyre used", so complete subjectivity would probably be key here. He doesn't know how his sin-based taxation system would work, but he probably also wouldn't know a sinner if he was standing right next to one.
Oh wait...
