(5,811 posts)Because first off, he is described in the two books I read about him and the one book I read about his wife, delusional, as having poor grasps on reality, as confusing the real with fantasy. He often believed moves were real events, situation, etc. And he had Alzheimers' during both terms. This was openly described in American Experience - President Ronald Reagan.

They can relate to him, because they are also delusional, have a poor grasp on reality and confuse the real with fantasy. Makes perfect sense to me.

(9,283 posts)Reagan was the President of the United States of Disneyland. He ignored problems, thus, there WERE no problems. If there were national or international crisis, it was the fault of "the other guys"-never the white, patriotic, clean-living all-American. I was 24 when he was coroneted and I never bought his stupid act for a second.
