I know this is an outre sentiment here but I kind of like Mark Zuckerberg.

He seems a pretty level headed wonky type who isn't completely caught up in having a gazillion bucks. Yes, he just bought a 7 million dollar house in Palo Alto but it's not some mega mansion. He doesn't own a private jet or private islands or any of the trappings of many of the super rich. He married his girlfriend of 7 years. She's just graduated from Med School specializing in pediatrics.

Zuckerberg has pledged that he will donate at least half of his fortune.

He came from a family that valued brains. Yes, he was fortunate and privileged growing up. His mother is a psychiatrist and his dad is a dentist, but he didn't come from an uber wealthy family.

I just can't get worked up over him.

Slam away.

Pic of his house:

Doesn't seem to be too full of himself. Of course, I might think differently if I knew him personally. But from all outward appearance, he seems like a decent guy.

Do you not mind being data-mined and profiled (I know, half the web does it, but none quite so profitably)? Are his giveaways to privatize the Newark Public Schools appealing to you?

Most highly successful creeps who do great harm have some human qualities. So, that's not an escape clause, in itself.

So, what's to really like about Mark Zuckerberg other than his typically laid-back nerd persona, and tech industry wardrobe? Then there's all his money . . .

it would easily have resulted in 100 times as many direct job creations. Even Apple has 47,000 employees.

If you want jobs creation, this isn't your ticket. Just the opposite is true, in fact.

Sorry nobody has pointed this out.

And, that's the reason Facebook is now the Darling of Wall Street. It produces profits for investors without requiring expensive infrastructure investment to create tangible goods, like manufacturing, and it doesn't employ a lot of expensive, demanding people.

Technical Analysis of Stocks and Commodities Magazine on the structural causes of what creates bubbles and seemingly erratic swings in equities prices. I was also published in Foreign Policy about the risks of securitization, assets overvaluation, and the attendant social costs of imperfect market mechanisms for allocation of capital. I know something about what I'm saying - and people who understand the subject don't think that such observations are so truly bizarre. I haven't heard a single substantial idea from you - do you actually have anything to say on these subjects, or are you just a blank wall in an echo chamber?
